This work was made on location for the kick-off of 'vlaknaast'.

In this work I drew a cable from the ceiling to the floor, spanning a distance of 9 meters. This cable starts at a video camera, hidden in ceiling and pointed downwards. On the floor it ends at a small monitor that’s pointed upwards.

The cable serves a double purpose: It visually connects the ceiling to the floor, but at the same it carries a video signal from the camera to the monitor. Facing the camera, the monitor sees it’s own image and repeats it. Much the same way two opposing mirrors would.

As such, a second, invisible line is drawn, parallel to the cable.
With no physical matter, it cannot be touched or seen by the viewer. It can only be experienced by interrupting it.
